Turning plastic waste into sustainable commodities

The challenge

Today, we produce over 385 million tonnes of plastic waste every year. That’s nearly the equivalent to the weight of the entire human population. Of this, only 10% is being recycled.

The solution

We believe chemical recycling is the best solution for plastic waste that cannot be mechanically recycled. Furthermore, chemical recycling can process plastic waste into fuel and new sustainable products bringing plastic into the circular economy, and at the same time, contributing to solving one of Europe's most considerable environmental problems.

The market

Around 29.1 million tons of plastic waste is generated in the EU every year. Yet, only 32.5% is being collected for recycling, representing a huge loss of potential resources as well as a massive stain on the environment.

Unique Value Proposition

Astrum Group is solving the waste problem at the local source. We are building replicable and modularized mid-size 30+30T/D recycling plants customized for municipalities and local waste challenges.

  • Feedstock from local waste facilities

  • Offtake directly and indirectly to local refineries and the petrochemical industry

  • Further processing in collaboration with selected partners at several new sites

We are building our first
Plastic-to-fuel factory in Valencia, Spain

Test Plant & Laboratory

Testing and lab analysis is conducted at our test plant and laboratory in Mallorca, Spain. We are continuously testing various feedstock mixtures to find optimized offtake commodities. Testing on a small scale will eventually make our commoditized platforms capable of converting several low-value feedstocks, including mixed composite polymer waste streams, into high-grade chemicals and oils.

Testing and lab analysis are conducted at our test plant and laboratory in Mallorca, Spain.

We are currently testing plastic mixtures delivered from different facilities within the Valencia region.

Oil samples from our testing are sent to laboratories and potential offtake partners for analysis.
